And You Call Yourself a Christian?
Creation or Evolution
So you call yourself a Christian and say you believe in both Creation and Evolution? My friend, I assure you that one of these two belief systems: Creation or evolution, has to be totally false. They both cannot be true. Creation is an intentional act that produces fully-formed plants, trees, animals and men. Evolution is a series of ‘chance' accidental events that they imagine occurred with no God. They imagine slow step-by-small-step accidental changes over m-i-l-l-i-o-n-s of years and one kind of creature turns into another completely unlike kind of creature.
Creator God took six days to create all that is on Earth and all in the heavens above. God created deep space and earth first. HE then placed the sun and moon and stars out in space. Those who believe in evolution do not believe in God as Creator. They usually believe in the big bang imagination. They imagined the universe evolved from a rapid expansion. They speculate that all the matter in the universe had been compacted into a dot not much bigger than a period at the end of this sentence. The dot of matter began to spin and rapidly expand outward. They say the dust-matter cloud (nebular hypothesis) took m-i-l-l-i-o-n-s or b-i-l-l-i-o-n-s of years, not six days to produce our solar system then the universe. They cannot explain what or Who was the source of the matter that they imagine was the spinning dot that rapidly began to expand outward (the big bang). They do not believe in Creation.
Why do some in the church founded by Jesus Christ, God the Son, who call themselves Christians, say the Bible account of Creation and the imagined idea of evolution are the same or are equal to one another; or that God used evolution to create? What a contradiction! The Bible account is the six days of creation, big bang evolution is about the imagined 12 ½ to 20 b-i-l-l-i-o-n years of ‘accidental production' of sun, planets, moons, then later stars. And on Earth they imagine evolution, not God produced the various kinds. These Are NOT The Same; NOT EVEN CLOSE! Since one is true, the other is false. Did God create or did we ‘happen' by accident or chance over b-i-l-l-i-o-n-s of years? You cannot logically believe in both. So, what is the evidence?
THREE QUICK EXAMPLES: If the earth is m-i-l-l-i-o-n-s or b-i-l-l-i-o-n-s of years old, then I have several questions for you. Have you ever heard of Niagara Falls? Do you know the moon is moving away from earth? Have you been taught about the Cambrian explosion in geology?
Niagara Falls: Niagara Falls is the name given to three waterfalls between the United States (New York State) and Canada (Province of Ontario). They are in the Niagara Gorge. They are located on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario. The falls are moving backward, eroding away. According to uniformitarian calculations, the Horseshoe Falls would take about 9900 years, we are told, to erode back the Niagara River and open Lake Erie into Lake Ontario.
Although some believe the falls are very ancient, the current explanation, given by the evolutionist, is that these falls were formed in the glaciers from the last ice age. They tell you that the last ice age was the Wisconsin glaciation which they erroneously state occurred approximately 85,000 to maybe 11,000 years ago. If that was true, and it would take only 9900 years for Horseshoe Falls to complete the erosion, between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, why is Niagara Falls still in existence? Why is not half way done eroding? Why did it not erode the waterway between lakes Ontario and Erie, long ago?
But if Creation is true and if there was a world-wide flood about 4500 years ago, as the Bible teaches, then Niagara Falls will still be on the Niagara River slowly eroding backward.
What does the evidence show?
Niagara Falls is still there, just like the Bible would expect. Niagara Falls should not be there if the evolutionary time line is correct.
By The Light of The Silvery Moon. How about the moon? Did you know that the moon is slowly moving away from the Earth? No one disputes that. As a matter of fact many big bang evolutionists say that at one time the two (Earth and moon) were one unit and separated and are continuing to separate and move farther and farther apart.
Did you also know the moon affects the tides or water levels? Tides is a term that refers to the rise and fall of sea levels (how far up on the beach the water reaches: high tide; then how far out the water goes into the sea or the ocean bottom: low tide). This is caused by the combined effects of gravitational forces exerted by the Moon, Sun, and rotation of the Earth. Some shorelines do it twice a day, some have low and high tides only once a day. The main force that affects our tides is the moon.
Although there are other tides that occur over longer periods we are only concerning ourselves with tides or changes in water levels that occur over hours every day. And we are only talking about the effect of the moon on the levels of water.
Wikipedia states: "Because the gravitational field created by the Moon weakens with distance from the Moon, it exerts a slightly stronger than average force on the side of the Earth facing the Moon and a slightly weaker force on the opposite side. The Moon thus tends to "stretch" the Earth slightly along the line connecting the two bodies. The solid Earth deforms a bit, but ocean water, being fluid, is free to move much more in response to the tidal force." The changing distance separating the Moon and Earth also affects tide heights. But since the Moon is separating from the Earth, the attraction is becoming, slowly, gradually weaker. So IF the Moon was once closer to the earth its gravitational pull would have been greater (the inverse square rule and tidal forces are inversely proportional to the cube of the distance).
Although there can be a dispute as to when it was, it can be agreed that at one point in time IF the moon slowly separated from the earth over long periods of time, then at one point everything on earth would be under water twice a day from the moon's gravitational force. It would be hard for any kind of animal life to exist on Earth if they were being drowned twice a day.
BUT since God created the Earth and then set the Moon in its place six to ten thousand years ago, the Moon's gravitational pull would not have drowned the Creation that God had placed upon the Earth, as it would never have been close enough.
So what does the evidence show? Did we all drown on Earth twice a day a million years ago? What is the evidence? Well, except for the one world wide flood that covered the Earth there is no proof of several world wide tidal floods every day that would kill all the living things.
The evidence supports the Bible account.
What About the Evidence in Rocks and Fossils?
Glad you asked. We can introduce you to the Cambrian explosion and to the comment of Mr. Darwin in his book On the Origin of Species, By Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.
Cambrian Explosion: If the Earth is really 4.6 b-i-l-l-i-o-n years old, and if evolution began by chance after Earth came to rest in its orbit, we would expect to find slowly changing creatures, step-by-small-step throughout the geological and fossil record. BUT if God created, we would expect to find all life coming into existence suddenly, all at once and not slowly changing but suddenly appearing. What does the geological record (record of rocks) reveal?
The Cambrian explosion is the single event in geology that has caused the evolutionary community the greatest consternation as it is the strongest evidence against their belief in Darwin's slow step-by-step evolutionary changes over extended vast age periods.
In that Cambrian level of rocks you find fully formed complex living things, with no evolutionary changes that appear in the geologic-fossil record before they suddenly appear. THUS, there is no evidence of evolutionary change.
The Pre Cambrian layer is supposed to represent about 4.5 b-i-l-l-i-o-n years of the supposed 4.6 b-i-l-l-i-o-n years they imagine for the age of the Earth. So for the first four and one half b-i-l-l-i-o-n years, (Precambrian) we find no life forms, no evidence of early life changing into the more complex life. Then we come to the Cambrian layer and find almost every complex form of life, fully formed and looking much the same as those same forms that are found on Earth today.
What does the evidence reveal? It reveals: Sudden Creation, as set forth in the Bible, not evolution, which is the imagination of man.
Was There Evidence for Darwinian Evolution? Charles Darwin expected to find a great number of slowly changing creatures from one unlike kind to another, but what did Mr. Darwin find?
"But just in proportion as this process of extermination has acted on an enormous scale, so must the number of intermediate varieties, which have formerly existed on the earth, be truly enormous. Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediate links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely graduated organic chain; and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and gravest objection which can be urged against my theory. The explanation lies, as I believe, in the extreme imperfection of the geological record." [chapter 9]
Mr. Darwin writes: Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely graduated organic chain… . So, there is not even one chain of evidence!
What does the evidence declare?
There was not ONE, not even one finely graduated organic chain. NOT ONE! In short there was no evidence to support the imagined ideas of Mr. Darwin: not any such finely graduated organic chain.
But there was an explosion of life appearing, complex and fully formed in the Cambrian layer. Sounds like sudden supernatural creation by Creator God.
Since God created just as the Bible says, we who are Christians are not surprised by the Cambrian explosion of fully formed living organisms. That is what we would expect. Also, we would not expect to find any finely graduated organic chains of one unlike kind changing into a completely different unlike kind. WE DO NOT FIND THAT. We would expect to find that geology or the study of rocks does not reveal any such finely graduated organic chain. And there is not one such finely graduated step-by-step chain of evidence leading from one creature to a totally unlike kind.
The evidence supports Creation by the Creator, not the imagined idea of chance evolution in slow steps over vast periods of time.
Finally, Christian friend, do you believe the Bible when it says:
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
Well, good so do I. But do you also believe the Bible when it says:
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Or
For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:11
Who wrote the Bible? God the Holy Spirit moved on men and they wrote as HE directed. So, did HE direct all the men Moses and John? Yes, we say. Well, if we cannot trust God the Holy Spirit to have properly written Genesis or Exodus, how can we believe HE directed John 3:16 and 17? HE is the same Author.
How can I accept the Bible if part is incorrect? If it is wrong in Genesis, chapter one, then since God the Holy Spirit inspired it all, none of it can be believed. OR is it true that ALL of the Bible is inspired by God?
How you answer this last question may tell you a lot about yourself.
